These are a pair of godaddy spec ads I shot and Produced from concept to completion with the boys from If Factor. We would all like to work on more projects like this one. Shot on the Canon 7D and edited with FCP. “Lock down your dot com”, was a tagline we used in one of the ads.

Kottak Attack

I had a great experience working with Scorpions’ drummer James Kottak and his wife Athena Lee. Spending two days with the Cinemacia, Locked Horns Productions and the UAT Digital Video crew filming greenscreen elements for a video to accompany James’ “Kottak Attack” drum solo for the band’s 2010 world tour. The video made its debut on their three year world tour in Munich Germany to extreme fan delight. Expected to play in at least 65 shows by 2012. Lots of eyes!

10th Annual Phoenix Film Festival

I spent the weekend at the phoenix film festival. This was my 5th year in attendance. I mark it as my anniversary within the film community here in phoenix. A lot has changed since my first year there as a volunteer. But it is always a great time spent with my colleagues, friends and old mentors I now get to call my peers. I get to talk shop, talk projects, talk cameras, critique, acclaim, and see a movie or two. It’s pretty much my kind of event.

Thanks to IFP Phoenix, and the entire Phoenix film community. I love being a part of it.

We are a community, not a war zone. Every community has crime, some more than others. Ours has become an area where the politicians have taken advantage of crime and used it for their federal political platform. Baseball Gameplan with Jason Giambi

Here is a promotional video I worked on for Shotzoom, subcontracted through Tribal Iris with Tim Allen. Baseball Gameplan is a video intensive app geared towards teaching young players tips and drills to improve their game.

On top of this we put together over 90 minutes of similarly stylized content for the training application. This is not your average set of training videos. These are high energy, exciting, informative pieces. Really. I wish I could show you some. They are cool.

This video was produced to showcase a new iPhone/iPad App delevoped by Shotzoom LLC, and was created to promote their product on the their website: BaseballGamePlan.com

We shot this using 2 Sony EX1’s, and one F350 XDCAM camera, and cut in Final Cut Pro. All of the motion graphics were done in Motion, including tracking the iPhone screenshots to the iPhones.

Along with this promo we shot & cut 50+ training videos to be used in the actual app itself.

Lock it Down

…for the iPad

I’ve been spending all of my time lately working on a huge pile of video content for and app scheduled to release with the Apple iPad. Probably can’t say too much for disclosure reasons. But I do get to spend 7 days a week editing with my friend and colleague Tim Allen. The edits are high energy, informative and look just awesome. I also might hint that I now know a lot more about Baseball than I ever even considered before.

I’d like to also note that “The Rainbow Boy” is still seeking donations to complete post-production on kickstarter. I think this is a great project to get behind that when completed will be a beautiful triumph and voice for the Navajo people. Homebrew: Ring Flash

I built myself a ring flash for my still camera. It was a crafty little experience and went through a revision. I used a disposable pie pan and some diffusion paper. fitted it with a sealed hole to shoot through, and an unmounted flash. Lots of just, measuring and cutting but it was pretty simple, really.

Both work, each little differently in their effect.

I’ve come forward to help get a baking site/blog going by doing some food photography for a Miss Sarah Mae and her new site www.sugar-junkie.com. You should check it out.

Food photography is great. It is usually small and controlled. Deals a lot of with color and texture. You are trying to get the eyes interested in something you would normally only be concerned about taste or smell.

I’m not doing all the photography on that site. The bottom of each post usually has a proper photo-credit listed.
